D-Care Women's Multivitamin & Mineral Formula contains a special nutrient matrix to support the specific needs of the diabetic woman:
- Polygonum Cuspidatum (Protykin® with phytoestrogens) - An all-natural plant extract to help reduce hot flashes, balance mood swings and promote healthy bone density.
- Alpha Lipoic Acid - Possesses naturally occurrring antioxidant properties that help protect cardiovascular, nerve and eye function. Also promotes more efficient glucose metabolism.
- Lutein esters - As one of two primary pigments found in the central part of the retina, Lutein has the potential to reduce the risk of damage to the eye, especially for individuals with diabetes who suffer from decreased microvascular capacity. PureTek incorporates Xangold® lutein esters - a high quality lutein source that mirrors the esters found in yellow and orange fruits and vegetables such as oranges, peaches, papayas, peppers and squash.
- Vanadyl Sulfate - Has insulin-like effects on glucose metabolism, extending the duration that insulin receptors are active.
- Chromium - Important glucose metabolism and may improve insulin efficiency.
